About the course

This course is suitable for anyone who needs a basic appreciation and awareness of how to work safely with electrical equipment (for example maintenance staff). Training involves a mixture of basic electrical theory and some practical exercises.

On successful completion of the course, delegates will achieve an EAL certificate. Please note that this demonstrates that minimum requirements have been met but the course is not nationally accredited.

Topics include

> Safe isolation procedures
> Identifying unsafe electrical situations
> Electrical earthing and bonding requirements
> Installing and replacement of electrical components
> Checking the correct and safe operation of installed electrical components
> Basic understanding of phase 3 supplies

Pre-requisites

No specific electrical knowledge is required but candidates must be able to understand and retain technical information.
