Details

Switch traffic at Gigabit speeds between fiber and copper segments while also providing reliable Power over Ethernet (PoE) power to end devices with PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switches from Black Box. Ideal for any converged network that has a mix of wireless access points, VoIP phones, and CCTV cameras, the switches carry both 1000-Mbps Ethernet data and 48-VAC power across twisted-pair wiring to 802.3af-compatible devices.

Like all end-span, PoE power-injection devices, they’re great for centrally supplying power to equipment located in areas without AC outlets. But because they also support QoS packet prioritization and link aggregation port trunking, you can reliably allocate necessary bandwidth for your more demanding packet-switching applications. Use these SNMP-manageable, 802.1p-standard Layer 2 switches to ensure dependable, real-time communications on segments supporting delay-sensitive VoIP and video surveillance applications.

Even better, the switches come with SFP optical transceiver slots for easily integrating 1000-Mbps fiber segments into bandwidth-intensive voice, video, and data networks, and/or connecting to a fiber backbone. For network access security, the PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switches feature IEEE 802.1x access control for port-based and MAC-based authentication. A Q-in-Q subscriber aggregation enables you to isolate traffic between different users and limit broadcast traffic to within the same VLAN broadcast domain.

Two models are available: The 24-port model (LPB4024A) features 20 PoE-enabled 10/100/1000 copper RJ-45 ports and four Gigabit-speed dual-media port interfaces, each of which can be used as either an extra copper PoE port or for adding a fiber uplink. The 8-port PoE L2 Managed Gigabit Switch (LPB4008A) has six PoE-enabled 10/100/1000 copper ports and two dual-media port interfaces. It’s ideal for use in workgroup or edge switching applications.
