Model 7344 RJ45 100-Base-T A/B Switch with Password Serial Remote, Cat 5 Compliant

The PathWay® Model 7344 Cat5 RJ45 Interface A/B Switch with Serial Remote allows user the capability of sharing a single RJ45 interface device connected to the "COMMON" port among two other devices connected to the "A" and "B" ports with remote access functionality.

The switch may be controlled locally by manually operating the front panel pushbutton. The front panel LED display indicates the switch position and unit power status. The unit also includes an RS232 serial security enhanced Supervisory Remote Port requiring a password login to access. Upon proper authentification, a terminal or computer in terminal mode connected to this port can communicate with the unit, determine its status, change the switch position as desired, and/or lockout the front panel switching capability. A modem can also be connected to this port for remote access to the switch. Access to the Supervisory Remote Port feature is password protected.
