Details

Provides flexible video and audio connectivity
The extender supports VGA through UXGA, and has two VGA ports for dual-video input and two VGA ports for looped local monitor connections on the transmitter unit plus dual VGA ports on the receiver.

Built-in skew compensation automatically corrects RGB convergence on both video channels, even over long CAT6 runs. This eliminates the need for special low-skew UTP cabling—use the cable you already have installed.

In addition, the extenders feature a built-in test pattern generator to compensate for longer cable lengths, or high frequency gain, and skew correction. Simply press the front-panel buttons to adjust either the high-frequency compensation (HF gain) or the red, green, and blue signal alignment.

Built-in EDID support enables the CPU’s video card to provide the most common resolutions to your monitors, even if the monitors aren’t detected, aren’t LCD monitors, or don’t support EDID. The transmitter features a DB15 port for powered audio and a looped DB15 powered audio port for plugging in and amplifying passive speakers. For audio on the remote, there is a powered DB15 output jack and a 3.5-mm mini stereo (line-level) audio jack.

A built-in USB hub plus dedicated USB port extension
These extenders support USB speeds of 1.5 Mbps (USB 1.0) and 12 Mbps (USB 1.1), and even USB 2.0 devices as long as they are backwards compatible.

The transmitter features a general-purpose USB port routed through an integrated hub to give you two local USB outputs. Use these ports to locate USB peripherals near your computer or local console. In addition, the transmitter extends USB USB signaling across the CATx link to communicate with a device plugged into one of the four general-purpose ports on the receiver end. For instance, you can use the first two ports for a remote keyboard and mouse, and the third and fourth USB ports for touch screens or other USB peripherals. The receiver features four general-purpose USB ports, plus one or two dedicated USB ports (DR1 and DR2). Signals from these dedicated “direct extension” USB ports does not pass through the transmitter’s built-in hub. Instead, two USB ports on the local PC are extended directly over CATx to corresponding USB ports on the receiver side. This means the PC’s USB port behaves exactly as if it were connected directly over CATx to corresponding USB ports on the receiver side.

Additionally, the USB ports are hot-swappable.

The transmitter provides local support for the dual-head video, audio, and USB. Other signals are routed to the receiver without local support.

As with all our KVM extension solutions, the ServSwitch Universal KVM Extenders enable you to keep your computer and valuable data in a locked, secure room and manage it remotely.
