Model 7271 Single Channel RJ45 A/B/C/D Switch, with Serial Remote Control Port

The Model 7271 Single Channel RJ45 Interface A/B/C/D Switch provides single channel 4-port switching in a low profile rack unit. It allows the user the capability of sharing a single RJ45 interface device connected to the COMMON port among four other devices connected to the A, B, C, and D ports.

The Model 7271 may be controlled locally by manually operating the front panel pushbutton or remotely from the DB9/female serial interface Remote port located on the rear of the unit. The front panel LED display indicates the switch position and unit power status.

LOCAL SWITCHING is achieved by simply pressing and holding the front panel pushbutton.
REMOTE SWITCHING is accomplished through the Remote port on the rear panel. The remote port provides switch control based on an ASCII character command set sent via RS232 interface to the Remote port connector.
