Model 7243 Triple Channel Multi Interface A/B Data Switch with Serial Remote Control Port

The PathWay® Model 7243 3-Channel AB Data Switch provides A/B switching in a low profile, 19-inch 1U rack unit. The multi interface is made up of (1) DB37 and (2) DB9 port connectors.

The Model 7243 network switch allows the user the capability of sharing a set of (1) DB37 and (2) DB9 interface devices connected to the Common port connectors among two other sets of devices connected to the "A" and "B" ports.

The switch may be controlled locally by manually operating the front panel pushbutton(s) or remotely from the DB9/female serial interface Control port located on the rear of the unit. The front panel LED display indicates the switch position and unit power status. All connectors of port, (1) DB37 and (2) DB9, are switched simultaneously. Pins 1 through 37 of the DB37 connector, and pins 2, 3, & 5 of each of the DB9 connectors are switched; therefore a total of (43) signals are switched simultaneously. Up to 50 user specified pins can be supported by custom configuration, specified at time of order.

A total of 50 pins can be supported. User to define pins supported on each interface channel at a time of order if other than standard is required.
All three channels switched simultaneously.
Each channel is transparent to data and speed.
Switch position and connection through the switch is maintained during power loss.
Local switching is done from a single pushbutton on the front panel.
Remote switching accomplished over DB9/RS232 Serial Interface Remote port on the rear panel of the unit.
Simple Remote commands include change switch position, query switch position, lockout front panel control of the unit.
19" standard rackmount enclosure, 8" deep, 1U rack height.
