Model 7242 DB25 A/B Switch / Rackmount with 10-BASE-T Remote Interface

IP Addressable Data Network Switch!

The PathWay® Model 7242 Single Channel RS232 / RS530 A/B Switch provides one channel switching in a low profile, 19" 1U rack unit. The Model 7242 network switch enables sharing a single DB25 interface device connected to the COMMON port among two other devices connected to the A and B ports.

The Model 7242 network switch may be controlled locally by manually operating the front panel pushbutton or remotely over the 10-BASE-T RJ45 remote port located on the rear of the unit. The front panel LED display indicates switch position, unit power and network status.

LOCAL SWITCHING is achieved by simply pressing the front panel pushbutton. The switch will change to the newly selected position as indicated by the front panel position LED's, A and B. The LINK and STATUS LED's indicate the status when the 10-Base-T Control port is connected to a network.

REMOTE SWITCHING of the unit is done through the 10-Base-T Control port on the rear panel. This Control interface has an addressable IP address and listens on the standard TELNET port (23) for incoming connection. When connected, the unit responds to the Remote Command Set.
