Model 4131 HP Fiber-to-USB Converter

Model 4131 Interface Converter Application:
The HP Fiber to USB Converters are used to connect fiber optic linked terminals to a controller having a USB Host interface port.

While USB is a versatile communication standard, conversion to a fiber optic communication standard also allows data transmission that is no longer susceptible to electrostatic or electromagnetic fields. Additionally, the ports of the connected terminals are protected from damage by potential differences (ground variations) that often exist between them.

Converts Universal Serial Bus (USB) Communication Interface to HP Versatile Link plastic core cable.
Provides full galvanic isolation (no metallic connection) between connected devices.
Full duplex connection between two devices having USB Host Interface ports.
Allows the interference-free fiber optical transfer of data to be utilized by the device having a USB Host interface.
Host Interface USB Full-Speed Data Transfer rate up to 12 Mbps.
Fibre connections via two standard Versatile Link connectors.
Maximum Link distance: greater than 500 meters (1640 feet) with 200 mm Hard Clad Silicon Fiber Cable.
