The Weekend Retailer is a sales revenue system for non-sales professionals who engage in part-time sales. It not only allows for the recording of sales transactions and related sales tax, but summarizes both the sales revenue and related sales tax by date and maintains a running year-to-date balance for both. The system consists of 104 worksheets, one for each Saturday and Sunday in a year, hot-linked to a summary worksheet which accumulates sales revenue totals and sales tax owed for each sales date. The summary worksheet also allows the user to apply payments against open sales tax liabilities. It should be noted that the application does not determine what sales revenue is subject to sales tax. That determination is made by the user. Once all or a portion of a sales transaction is deemed subject to sales tax, the program will accept the applicable sales tax rate and compute the amount that is owed.

The Weekend Retailer is in the form of a standalone open source Gnumeric spreadsheet, it does not require the installation of other application in order to load or execute on your system and consequently will not have any compatibility issues with a pre-existing setup.
