The PSO program is privately owned and maintained by Public Safety Online LLC. PSO is a program that gathers, stores, and presents useful, day-to-day information between the community and first responders using current technology in a social networking theme. This program provides pertinent information instantly to law enforcement and fire departments to help them provide their services more efficiently in both routine and emergency situations and help them to better serve the community

Allows enhanced video monitoring abilities of your home and/or business - The PSO application allows buildings or residences with a qualified remote viewing camera system* to enter the digital video recorder (DVR) access information and allow their cameras to be viewed by first responders. Thus, first responders with internet access in their patrol cars or fire trucks can view the cameras remotely. *To achieve maximum security of the video transmission of a camera system, video encoding standards have been established to guard against unauthorized viewing.

Easy to use Web 2.0 application - The term "Web 2.0" describes the changing trends in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aim to enhance creativity, communications, secure information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the web. Web 2.0 concepts have led to the development and evolution of web culture communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, video sharing sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies.

Confidential information is provided and controlled by the Users - The PSO database allows an owner and/or occupant of a residence, business, school, church, government office…etc. at a specific location to voluntarily log in as a user and create a personal profile. Users then provide and change as needed their own basic and emergency contact information. First responders (i.e.: law enforcement and fire department personnel) can log into the online PSO program to search for and locate an address, determine it’s exact location (jurisdiction, municipality, geographic tag, etc.) and review the user provided data prior to or in conjunction with the dispatch of personnel
