Tropico Vertical Pendant Light by Foscarini, a new design developed by Giulio Iacchetti, has been previewed in Frankfurt and in Milan. Tropico is a modular system that offers the possibility to build lamps of different shapes and sizes. Quoting the decorative language of crystal chandeliers and elements, using a magical play on light, Tropico's form and structure is obtained through the repetition of just one modular piece. This linear element can form the volume from which the shadows are modelled.

The network of 24 Elle Decor editorial boards around the world has awarded this pendant light the prize for the lighting category, for the revolution it has introduced into this field: from the design idea based on a modular system, to the flexibility in construction that allows the standard product to be transformed into a custom solution, adapted to its use and to the interior design project.

About the Designer
He has been an industrial designer since 1992. He also carries out an intense didactic work for several universities and design schools, in Italy and abroad. He was awarded a number of international prizes. In 2001 his project for a disposable fork "Moscardino" (designed with Matteo Ragni) won the Compasso d'Oro ADI and is now part of the permanent design exhibition at MOMA, New York.
