This little device is excellent for counting gym laps. It is mechanical, not electronic, and small enough to fit comfortably in even a small hand, such as mine. All you need to do is press the lever as each lap is completed. The size is a definite plus, and the freedom from batteries and other electronic bells and whistles makes it easy to use anywhere without having to recharge or replace a battery. This is a neat, useful little device that I highly recommend. I have been very pleased with it, and at such a low price, I bought some for my 'gym walking buddies' as Christmas presents. I work out at a gym that has an indoor track. 12 laps = equal 1 mile. I purchased this counter to help me keep track of the laps and it works. There's no special highlights to this counter. It is what it is. If you want something basic...get this. Sturdy build. Can't complain for something that's under $3.00. Get's the job done, and everytime I run...I make sure I have it! This is an excellent product: light weight, easy to use. I exercise by walking a track (13 laps equal a mile), so I get satisfaction in using the hand tally counter to monitor my progress.
