End-to-End Accountability

The CIRAM solution is designed to manage the business processes of compliance from end to end, not just the data. This means issues do not "fall between the cracks" and remain visible at all levels through all phases. Problems are escalated when necessary and are allocated rapidly and precisely to the people in your organisation that can deal with the problem.

The CIRAM application enables an organisation to efficiently and effectively track and manage all compliance related notifications. The system is designed to lower the risks associated with compliance activities such as failure to record notifications, failure to action notifications, failure to take appropriate action in compliance matters, failure to conduct competent investigations, and failure to take consistent action in compliance matters.

As many organisations are limited by the number of trained resources, the Compliance Incident Notification System will assist in maximising productive allocation and usage of the limited resources available.

Based on Business Rules

The CIRAM system matches the regulatory business rules and procedures required by the organisation and as a result:

Bay's CIRAM solution is based on the automation of three principal process modules. These modules comprise:

1. Alleged Offences

Notification of alleged breaches of regulatory or business legislation may enter organisations from a variety of sources. Many of these generate senior executive attention and correspondence. Each of these notifications must be actioned within a certain time period determined by the compliance business rules. CIRAM enables the tracking of these items from their creation, through allocation, investigation, recommendation, and enforcement.

2. Appeals

Individuals or organisations have the right to appeal against the remediation action determined appropriate. CIRAM supports timeframes and reminders necessary to receive and action the appeals. CIRAM enables the tracking of appeals from creation through verification of appropriateness, review, and representation within court.

3. Auditing

Most organisations require the ability to proactively ensure that staff are complying with the regulations and procedures. CIRAM gives organisations the ability to request and conduct audits, recording details for future use. The result of an audit may be the notification of an Alleged Offence.

Technology

The CIRAM solution uses the Microsoft SQL2005® platform for both database and .Net applications. As with all Bay's Cooperative products, the platforms can be modified to suit the customer need.
